The Day I Almost Quit My Business (And What Saved Me)

There was a day, one of those gut-wrenching, soul-searching days, when I almost walked away from Wickedly Branded. I wasn’t struggling with getting clients. Referrals were still coming in. But I had just lost a couple of key clients—clients I should have fired long before. I was struggling with getting the right clients.

And the truth?

It wasn’t because of a bad economy, a slow season, or even a shift in the market.

It was because I had let myself get stuck dragging people across the finish line who weren’t truly invested in their own success.

The Breaking Point

Entrepreneurship is a delicate balance of service and boundaries.

For too long, I ignored the red flags. I kept pouring energy into clients who wanted me to do all the work. They weren’t engaged. They didn’t take ownership of their brand. And when things didn’t magically transform overnight? They pointed the finger at me.

I knew deep down that they weren’t the right fit.

But I kept trying to fix it. Trying to push them toward success even when they weren’t willing to meet me halfway.

And the result?

🔥 I was drained.
🔥 I was frustrated.
🔥 I started resenting the work I once loved.

When those clients left, I should have felt relief—but instead, I spiraled.

I thought:

✔ What if this keeps happening?
✔ What if I’m the problem?
✔ Maybe I’m just not cut out for this.

That’s when the thought hit me: Maybe I should just quit.

The Turning Point

But then, in that moment of doubt, I had a realization:

✨ I wasn’t failing. I was finally making space for the right clients. ✨

Instead of seeing it as a loss, I reframed it as a necessary shift.

It wasn’t until I lost clients that I had the clarity to see what my business could truly become.

I needed to stop saying yes to clients who weren’t truly aligned with the work I wanted to do and start saying yes to the right clients.

So, I made a decision:

❌ No more chasing clients who needed convincing.
❌ No more taking responsibility for their inaction.
❌ No more over-delivering for people who weren’t fully committed.

Instead, I would:

✅ Work only with high-impact, high-commitment business owners.
✅ Focus on clarity, not just marketing tactics—because branding only works when the business owner believes in it.
✅ Set stronger boundaries so I could serve my best clients at my highest level.

What I Want You to Know
